TEACHERS’ ATTITUDE TOWARDS TEAMWORK AT UNIVERSITY LEVEL

Abstract

The ability to work as part of a team is one of the most important aspect of individual in educational organization. Higher educational institutes are looking for teachers who can contribute their own ideas, but also want those teachers who can work with others to create and develop effective learning organization. This study was designed to investigate the teachers’ attitude towards teamwork at university level. Descriptive design was used. A standardized questionnaire was adapted in the context of Pakistan; it was developed by Kirkman & Shapiro. All university teachers were constituted as the population of the study. 238 male and female teachers were taken as sample through random sampling technique. Findings of this study showed that teachers had positive attitude towards teamwork. Similarly, male teachers had more positive attitude towards teamwork than female teachers. Moreover, qualification, age, teaching experiences, departments and organizational sector had significantly effect on teachers’ attitude towards teamwork.
